Houshamadyan presents the next article in the series on the history of the Ashekian/Iynedjian/Bakalian/
Bohdjelian families, written by Anny Bakalian.
The second part of the family history is an account of Parsegh Ashekian’s descendants who settled down in Lebanon. We learn about Garabed Parsegh Ashekian’s seven children – Parsegh, Haroutyun, Dikran, Nazaret, Misak, Mihran, and their only sister, Nevrig. The focus then shifts to the fourth generation of the family and their children, who settled down in Lebanon in the 1920s.
The city of Adana represented an important episode in the family’s history. The Ashekian and Bakalian branches of the larger family lived in the city after leaving Kayseri/Gesaria.
This lengthy work is the result of the painstaking investigation conducted by Anny Bakalian, as well as her interviews with members of the family. The article is accompanied by a trove of family photographs, as well as documents and memory items that family members brought from Adana.
The article was translated into English and Turkish respectively by Chaghig Chahinian-Arzrouni and Arlet İncidüzen.
