This new family collection is kept by Suzana Apartian in Athens. The family‘s history starts in Cilicia, in the towns of Sis (presently Kozan) and nearby Kars-Bazar (presently Kadirli) and reaches Athens.
Starting in Sis, the Apartians made musical string instruments. The family perfected the craft in Athens, where Krikor Apartian became a master guitar maker. The collection is rich in items linked to this family legacy.
Souzana‘s mother was from the Karamanian family. Their collection is also rich in many photos and documents that traveled from Cilicia to Greece.
These items were assembled in Athens on November 30, at a Houshamadyan workshop. The page was prepared in cooperation with the Athens Armenika periodical and the Hamazkayin Union.
