Leonard Manoukian, Candidate for Glendale City Council – March 3, 2020.
December 10, 2019
Glendale City Council Candidate Leonard Manoukian received a very strong endorsement by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party!
Prior to Leonard’s endorsement, he was unanimously recommended by the LACDP'S recommendation committee for his Glendale City Council race. He was the only candidate, out of a field of 5 Democrats, to receive the votes of all 11 committee members.
Leonard is active in the California Democratic Party, being elected as a party delegate from the 43rd Assembly District in 2016 and appointed a delegate to the party convention in 2018 by Assembly Member Laura Friedman. He is also the political director of the Southern California Armenian Democrats.
Leonard has been active and involved in Glendale community affairs for many years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America – Verdugo Hills Council for over a decade, and was a member of the Glendale City Planning Commission for 11 years. As a Planning Commissioner, Leonard Manoukian has played an important role in practically every significant city planning initiative over the last decade. He was the co-chair of the ANCA-Glendale in 2010.
In response to this endorsement, Leonard said “I am very grateful for this strong vote of confidence by our county’s highest Democratic body. Our party’s values of inclusivity, care for the most vulnerable in our community, and protection of the environment, will be the cornerstones of my campaign and the goals of my service to Glendale.”
