Un duo : Arto & Ara

“Sadana” from Onno

Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Ara Dinkjian
1998 | World, Folk | 42 minutes 31 seconds

Arto Tuncboyaciyan (pronouced Toundjboyadjian) and Ara Dinkjian both have extensive bodies of work that span decades, as individual musicians and as collaborators. If you follow us closely, you already know that we’re HUGE fans of both of them, and when they come together to make music… let’s just say we haven’t heard a better duo in the Armenian world. "Sadana" (meaning “Satan” or “devil” in Armenian), from the album Onno, is one of the those obscure yet brilliant tracks you stumble upon accidentally while on a deep, deep hunt for new music on YouTube. In the track, Arto speaks directly to the devil, telling Satan to leave our bodies, our homes, and our villages, while Ara does what he does best on the oud. This is our 2019 jam #NotThisYearSatan
