On October 11, in the framework of the Francophonie Summit taking place in Armenia, the French and Belgian leaders – Emmanuel Marcon and Charles Michel – visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial complex in Yerevan and paid tribute to the 1.5 million victims.
After Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande, Emmanuel Macron is the 4th French President to visit Tsitsernakapert Memorial (read here). The head of the Belgian delegation Charles Michel is the first ever Belgian Prime Minister visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
